In Science: We are finishing our space unit. We will be learning all about the animal the children choose to research. Also near the end of the month we will be starting a dinosaur theme.

In Math: In Math this month we will continue working on 3D shapes – and then learning about measurement with capacity, area and perimeter – there will be a fun little homework activity to do in the next few weeks. As well – starting to tell time. Please start explaining what those hands mean on the clocks at home – and what the numbers mean too! We focus on the “o’clock” numbers.

In Language: The kindergartens are working on persuasive writing right now and we will soon be working on our next book about an animal (the children will be choosing the animal – so they’ll let you know what we are learning about after Mother’s Day)! Most of our letters have returned to us now – I have been sending them home after we read them together so that you can reply and try to keep up the penpal thing over the summer as it is great meaningful writing.

Reading Tip:
The children are making fabulous gains in their reading. Please continue to read at night. Encourage your child to break up words if they are too hard (I am calling them chunks). For instance,
