Donate To Help In Africa

Students in Mrs. Higgs’ Grade 7/8 class have been working on Awareness Campaigns based on the 17 Global Goals that they have been learning about in Geography. The following article is written by Linden Nieder, a grade 7 student in Mrs. Higgs’ class.

The Blue Chip Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, the foundation focuses on Goal 9, which is to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

The foundation works to promote the development of resilient infrastructure that can withstand natural disasters, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods. They also work to ensure that infrastructure projects are sustainable and inclusive, meaning that they benefit everyone in the community, not just the wealthy few.

The foundation also promotes industrialization and innovation. They believe that these are essential for economic growth and development. By promoting innovation, the foundation hopes to help developing countries leapfrog over traditional development stages and move directly into a more sustainable and prosperous future.

The Blue Chip Foundation believes that partnerships are key to achieving their goals. They work with governments, businesses, and other organizations to develop innovative solutions to infrastructure challenges. They also work with local communities to ensure that infrastructure projects are tailored to their needs and preferences.

One of the Blue Chip Foundation’s most significant projects is the development of a sustainable energy grid in rural communities in Africa. The project involves the installation of solar panels and batteries, which provide electricity to households and businesses. This project has had a significant impact on the lives of people in rural areas, enabling them to access electricity for the first time and improving their quality of life.

The foundation has also supported the development of sustainable transportation infrastructure in developing countries. They believe that sustainable transportation is essential for economic growth and development. By promoting the development of sustainable transportation infrastructure, the foundation hopes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality in cities.
