There are a wide variety of events taking place in the first few weeks of school to support the Terry Fox Foundation:
1. PLEDGE FORMS GO HOME – Friday, September 6. Students will receive pledge forms. Our school goal this year is to raise $5000! Please encourage your son/daughter/children to approach family and friends only. Many students joined the online pledging last year and it made it easier for friends and families to donate. If you are interested in setting up an online pledge form, please visit https://terryfoxschoolrun.org/students/. Door-to-door fundraising is not supported. Pledge forms are due back to the school on Monday, September 30.
2. HEADS OR TAILS – Friday, September 13, Friday, September 20 and Friday, September 27 (in our morning assemblies). Students can bring $2 to play. Each student chooses a side to stand on and if the coin flips in their favour, they continue to move on to the next round. The last student standing wins a prize!
3. MEET THE STAFF BBQ/TERRY FOX FUNDRAISER – Thursday, September 26 – 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Food and drinks will be sold at the BBQ and all proceeds go toward the Terry Fox fundraiser. Our Intermediate Leadership Team will be assisting in set-up, clean-up and games for the evening. We hope to see you there!
4. TERRY FOX RUN AT SPRUCE GLEN – Friday, September 27, 2024. This is the date that was selected by the Terry Fox Foundation for all of the school runs! All community members are welcome to attend and participate at 2:45pm. We will use our playground as our track to walk, jog and/or run around.
